Delete That From Your Facebook Wall

So you want to get hired...

In our day and age, social media matters a lot more than we would like to believe. That means that your social media profile represents you not only to your friends, but to your family (yes, your grandparents) and your employers, or people you want to be your employers.

Our generation likes to think that what goes on our social media accounts is private and will never see the light of day, but that is wishful thinking. Everything you put online is visible to anyone who wants to look for it. That is why you must be careful.

Below are something that you need to delete fro your Facebook wall (or twitter timeline, or instagram, or tumblr) right now. Whether you are job hunting now, applying to college, attempting to get into a sorority, or want to do any of those things in the future, these are good practices.

DELETE THAT FROM YOUR FACEBOOK WALL:

2.     Any picture of you that you would not want your grandmother to display on her mantle.

3.     All posts where you reference how much you hate your job, boss, or coworkers.

4.     All spam posts with lewd videos and images that your hacked friends tagged you in.

5.     Any posts that mention personal, privates issues such as, but not limited to, your cheating husband, your bloody stool,  and the sex you had last night.

6.     Any “comical” prior jobs, such as at The Krabby Patty or Your Mom

7. Pictures of you in scantily clad clothing, no matter the location.

8. Pictures of you giving the middle finger to ANYTHING or ANYONE

9.     Any drug references, including pictures, comments, shared articles, and videos
